City of a Thousand Dolls
by Miriam Forster
Publisher: Harper Children's
Release date: 2013

The girl with no past, and no future, may be the only one who can save their lives.

Nisha was abandoned at the gates of the City of a Thousand Dolls when she was just a child. Now sixteen, she lives on the grounds of the isolated estate, where orphan girls apprentice as musicians, healers, courtesans, and, if the rumours are true, assassins. Nisha makes her way as Matron’s assistant, her closest companions the mysterious cats that trail her shadow. Only when she begins a forbidden flirtation with the city’s handsome young courier does she let herself imagine a life outside the walls. Until one by one, girls around her start to die.

Before she becomes the next victim, Nisha decides to uncover the secrets that surround the girls’ deaths. But by getting involved, Nisha jeopardises not only her own future in the City of a Thousand Dolls—but her own life.

So, today i was wandering around because i had no idea what to do for this meme, but when i ended up at Books to Infinity and Beyond (great blog! I would highly recommend it!) i thought "Eureka!" So, typically, this ended up as my choice. I thought it was perfect like a present with a bow right on my doorstep! I just can't stop getting squeamish over this book. I love the cover! And oh my, does it sound interesting! The only complaint i have is why 2013?!!

What are you waiting on this Wednesday?
Comment below! =D

  1. Wow, this sounds great! And it's always nice to see a fantasy adventure story with a girl main character.

  2. This is the first time I'm seeing this one it sounds really interesting!

  3. Well I stopped by to look at your new review and scrolled down and saw this, so (4 days late) wow!

This looks great - I've never even come across this anyplace and it's just the sort of thing I'd be looking for. It sounds like a whole combination of about ten different things I like to read, I have to go put it on my GR shelf. It is weird that the cover and everything is out for a book that isn't going to be released until 2013. Half of the time they don't even have covers for things coming out in December yet. Weird.

    1. yes it is weird but all the better! You can't but be struck by the cover! =D
