Eternal Starling by Angela Corbett.
Pages: 320
Publisher: Pendrell Publishing
Expected Publication: December16th 2011

A love so strong, even eternity can’t separate them.

Evie Starling has lived a relatively uneventful life hanging out with friends, gossiping about boys, and driving her 1966 Mustang. All of that changes when she moves to Gunnison, Colorado, to start college and meets two mysterious men.

For centuries, Alex Night and Emil Stone have yearned for Evie—but they each have their own reasons for wanting to be with her. When both men claim to be her soul mate and tell her about an unbelievable past, Evie learns that she’s not the person she thought she was. Soon, Evie finds herself in the middle of an age-old battle between the Amaranthine Society—the  soul protectors, and the Daevos Resistance—the soul destroyers. With a past she doesn’t understand, and a future rife with danger, Evie has to decide who she can trust. But Alex and Emil aren’t the only ones who want Evie, and her soul is about to become the rope in an eternal tug-of-war.

This week my Teaser Tuesday is . . . Ultraviolet by R. J. Anderson.

' I believe you. If it had't been for the gentle weight of Faraday's hand on my shoulder, i'd have thought i was hallucinating. I'd dreamed of hearing these words for so long, it was almost too much to accept that i was really hearing them.'

Review: Ultraviolet by R. J. Anderson.

Author: R. J. Anderson
Publisher: Orchard Books
Date published: June 2011
Pages: 410

Summary:
Everything you believe is wrong.

Once upon a time there was a girl who was special.
This is not her story.
Unless you count the part where I killed her.

Sixteen-year-old Alison has been sectioned in a mental institute for teens, having murdered the most perfect and popular girl at school. But the case is a mystery: no body has been found, and Alison's condition is proving difficult to diagnose. Alison herself can't explain what happened: one minute she was fighting with Tori -- the next she disintegrated. Into nothing. But that's impossible. Right?

Now, let me tell you my story. I thought this book was going to be disgusting, because A) i thought the murder was a old man, B) i thought it was going to be boring and C) i thought the author was boring. And i was going to be like: yeah this book is bad and blah, blah, blah. But, now i can't because now that i have read it i want to kill myself. This is because, A) the murderer isn't a old guy but a girl that has synthesis. B) It's not boring! And C) It's by R. J. Anderson!
sigh, i have been soooo stupid! It's by R. J. Anderson. The Author who wrote Rebel a.k.a Faery Rebels: Spell Hunter. My favourite faire books. Anybody who doesn't like it must be crazy!

My summary:
Alison is not a normal girl. She can taste words, she can see things that people can't see and she can hear what people can't hear. She wakes up not in her bed but mental institute for teens. She can't remember how she got here, where she is, what's going on and why is she in a mental institute? When Alison wakes up she is moved to another institute for teens. She tries to impress Dr Minta so she can go home. However when the mysterious new staff comes along she can't help but just stare at him. He's got violet eyes and his name (Faraday) is full of violet and tastes like chocolate. However when Alison tells how she killed Tori Faraday believes her. Faraday trusts her. But, Faraday is holding secrets as well. Will he tell Alison? Or, will he keep it a secret . . .

Review:
I loved this book! It was a perfect read. I also love it because i love books where someone has a sickness. I think i love those kind of books because you can see, feel and hear what they can. The characters in this book was all meant to be there. Everyone had a place in the book. I also love Kirk's character. I would love him as a friend, even though he does crazy things sometimes.

Review: Mercy by Rebecca Lim.

An angel searching for answers, for her destiny . . .

Mercy ‘wakes’ on a school bus bound for Paradise, a small town where everyone knows everyone else’s business… or thinks they do. But Mercy has a secret life.
She is an angel, doomed to return repeatedly to Earth, taking on a new human form each time she does, in an effort to resolve a cataclysmic rift between heavenly beings.

The first of a brilliant new series sees Mercy meeting Ryan, an eighteen-year-old whose sister was kidnapped two years ago and is presumed dead.
When another girl is also kidnapped, Mercy knows she has to act quickly and use extraordinary powers to rescue her, even if it means exposing her true identity.

I would have never said this but this book was amazing. Even though if i don't like angels in YA or most of the books that i read. However, i have got to say that i give ally my thanks to JessicaRaexox @ addicted to novels because she's the one who shared this on her blog.

The things i liked about the book are: how the book started. The introduction of her was not boring but the opposite. I also, love how Mercy switches bodies, or as she calls it: 'soul Jacking'.

Every time you learn something about Mercy, it becomes more engaging. When you read through the book you have a lot of question like: Who exactly is Mercy? Who exactly is Luc? Who is the person that Mercy saw in the dark? Who kidnapped Lauren? What's going to happen? Does Ryan love Mercy? And the most important . . .  Will Ryan find Mercy again in the second book (Exile)?

I don't think i hated anything in this book. Except, it was creepy when you find out who kidnaped Lauren and Jennifer.

Review: Starcrossed (Starcrossed #1) by Josephine Angelini

Destiny brought them together.
The gods will keep them apart.

When sky, awkward Helen Hamilton meets
Lucas Delos for the first time, she thinks two things:
the first, that she most ridiculous ly beautiful boy she has seen in her life;
the second, that she wants to kill him with her bare hands.

An ancient curse means Lucas and Helen are destined to lathe one another.
But sometimes love is stronger than hate, and not even the gods themselves can prevent what will happen next
. . .

Oh, my god! Oh, my god! OH! MY! GOD! AMAZING!
I love this book. I think it's because of the Greek myths and of the Greek theme. I LOVE GREEK MYTHS! I think that's why it was more intriguing for me but i would think that everybody else will love this as well.

Anyway, lets not get carried away Ahem, ahem.

Helen is an ordinary girl from the outside but she knows she's not normal. She can carry heavy wight and run for miles without stopping. When she hears about the new family that is going to live in the grand house near the sea she thinks that they are just a typical family. But, again they are not. When Helen see Lucas Delos, one of the member of the family she thinks about two things: first that he is ridiculously gorgeous and secondly, she wants to kill him with her bare hands. Helen doesn't know whats going on with her anymore. She can't control herself whenever she sees one of the Delos family and she keeps on seeing ghosts. But when Helen finds out about herself, the Delos family and everything else, life is  not normal anymore.

Wow, i love Helen character. I would do anything to be her. She gets a big hottie for her boyfriend, wait, not even that A HALF GOD! I love Creon's character. I also love Helen's friend, Claire. I wish i had a friend like Claire because even though she knew Helen was not normal she just ignored it and carried on to be Helen's friend.  And i love how Helen's mum comes back and then the story takes another turn.

The thing i didn't like is how it ended. I thought it should have ended in a better way. For example, it could have stopped when Helen gets kidnapped by her mum and then in the next book it could have continued with that. I think i will by the next book in this series.

Review: Fallen by Lauren Kate.

Some angels are destined to fall.

Instant. Intense. Weirdly familiar . . .
The moment Luce looks at Daniel
she knows she has never felt like this before.
Except she can't shake the feeling that she
has . . . and with him - a boy she doesn't
remember ever setting eyes on.

Will her attempt to find out why to find out why enlighten her
- or destroy her

This book is great. From the start it captures your attention about Luce. There are so many questions that you want to ask. What has she done to her boyfriend? How does Luce know Daniel? Why does she see those dark shadows? why is this school built for these kind of kids? And of course, what have those kids done to end up in this, dull, dark and mysterious school.

OK, let me get this straight. I did like this book but then i got of it because of all this angel stuff. For some reason i don't really like books with angels. I don't know why i don't like them but i just don't like them.

However if anyone wants me to give me some angel books that they want to share then that's fine because i want to try new things.

Although, i didn't read the whole book i am still going to rate this book because where i got up to i still thought it was interesting.

Kill or be killed.

When sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen stps forward to take her sisetr's place in the

For her survival is second nature.

When Katniss takes her sisters place in the Hunger Game she has to do whatever she can to survive for her family. But it doesn't matter does it? But when Peetea Melarki gets chosen to participate in the Hunger Games Katniss can't kill him because he once saved her life and her family. What will she do . . .

W - O -W!!! I love it!!! I literally ripped through the book!

I love it! I love it! I love it! I have been so dumb. This book has been in my to read shelf for so long and what do i get . . . the best book in the whole world. This is like the best book you can ever read with action and at the same time romance.

I think Katniss is my favorite character in the book. She's brave, doesn't give up and always has hope in her. Now it's time i choose the guy i like. The boy i prefer is Peeta because . . . actually i don't know. I just think he's perfect. Yep, just perfect. Thats the only world you can describe him. Perfect! Although i would have also like Gale but he's just too old! I also think that Katniss should get Peeta because they are perfect for each other.

This week i am waiting on . . .

The world lies in tatters. Her touch is the Only salvation.

Laying hands upon the injured and dying, Avry of Kazan assumes their wounds and diseases into herself. But rather than being honored for her skills, she is hunted. Healers like Avry are accused of spreading the plague that has decimated the Territories, leaving the survivors in a state of chaos. Stressed and tired from hiding, Avry is abducted by a band of rogues who, shockingly, value her gift above the golden bounty offered for her capture. Their leader, an enigmatically captor-protector with powers of his own, is unequivocal in his demands: Avry must heal a plague-stricken prince—leader of a campaign against her people. As they traverse the daunting Nine Mountains, beset by mercenaries and magical dangers, Avry must decide who is worth healing and what is worth dying for. Because the price of peace may well be her life....

Review: Brightgirls by Clare Chambers.

It was going to be a explosive summer . . .

Rachel and i had strict instructions:
"Don't tell anyone in Oxford where you're going, and don't tell anyone in Brighton why you're there. You don't have to lie. Just be vague."

"Oh, I don't mind lying,"
Rachel had said cheerfully.
"That's the fun bit."

We secretly go away to he beach for the summer.
Our lives may be in danger.
We secretly go away to the beach for the summer.
We enjoy ourselves until its safe to go home.

If i just stop Rachel from spending all our money and help her find a holiday job and and keeping her from dating every boy in town and make sure she doesn't say anything stupid, maybe it'll all turn out OK . . .

Robyn a fifteen year old teenager and her sister have to go away to Brighton for safety. they can't tell anyone why they are there. the plan is to stay at their aunt Jackie's house

Robyn is Fifteen-year-old Robyn (the "sensible" one) and her older sister Rachel arrive in Brighton to spend the summer with their estranged Aunt Jackie, who runs a ballgown hire business from her ramshackle multi-storey home. They have been forced to leave their home in Oxford, where they live with their father, because of threats to their safety, the nature of which only gradually becomes apparent. But it doesn't turn out to be a normal place to stay in aunt Jackie's house. From playing in a pub that Robyn is not allowed in to Aunt Jackie's  Princess Diana dress getting destroyed and many more . . .

If you want a laugh out book then be sure to pick this bright, yellow book!

Review: Unhooking the moon by Gregory Hughes.

Two orphans on a road-trip they'll never forget . . .
'Where are you going?' asked border patrol.
'We're going to New York to see our grandma and the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty and everything. And our granny's going to bake us her very own apple pie.' She sounded so convincing. Some days I wondered who the Rat really was.
'What's your granny's name?' asked the officer. That's it! The Rat's Little Red Riding Hood performance had ruined us.
'Grandma, of course.'
I was relieved when I heard laughter.
'Would you like to see our birth certificates?' said the Rat.
She always had to overdo it! She wouldn't be satisfied until we were locked up!"

Meet the Rat: A dancing, soccer-playing, gangster-wise prairie kid.
When the Rat's father dies, she decides to head for New York. What can her older brother Bob do but follow?

I am going to be straight forward. I didn't really like this book. The first chapter was confusing because it was taking about things that i didn't understand. It would have been better for me if the author described the character and the setting first. However some people might hang on to the book till the end so they can find out what it really is about.

Thankful for . . . Harry Poter series.

The most book that i am thankful for is Harry Potter. I first started reading Harry Potter when i was about
8 but for some reason i stopped reading it.

It all started when i was in the library.  I saw the book and it looked interesting so i took it out to read. I read it and it started to be actually nice because i didn't really like books then. So, i started reading and reading it more. I started to come home more quicker to read it. However i stopped reading it because there were things i needed to do.

And then after two years people started to talk about and then it just came up in my mind that i was reading it. I got excited again  but this time i bought it and when i bought it, straight away, i started to reading it. It became more interesting and then i read the next book and then the third one but then i had to wait for it because i had to by the whole series.

And right now i am still a fan Actually, rather than a fan i would call myself a Harry Potter fanatic who is still depressed about Snape dying. I also, talk about it to my friends and one of them loves it. We can go all day about it and today we was talking about it. I know what you are thinking that we are crazy and actually we are for Harry potter. Not Harry Potter but the book!

This post is my main entry for a giveaway going on right now in Beth Revis' blog (author of Across the Universe). If you want to participate click here to get a chance of winning 19 books!

Waiting on Wednesday (4)

Jill @ Breaking the Spine hosts this weekly meme where we can share a book that we are so excited for and are anxiously awaiting their upcoming release!

This week i am waiting for . . .  Pure by Julianna Baggott.

We know you are here, our brothers and sisters . . .
Pressia barely remembers the Detonations or much about life during the Before. In her sleeping cabinet behind the rubble of an old barbershop where she lives with her grandfather, she thinks about what is lost-how the world went from amusement parks, movie theaters, birthday parties, fathers and mothers . . . to ash and dust, scars, permanent burns, and fused, damaged bodies. And now, at an age when everyone is required to turn themselves over to the militia to either be trained as a soldier or, if they are too damaged and weak, to be used as live targets, Pressia can no longer pretend to be small. Pressia is on the run.

Burn a Pure and Breathe the Ash . . .
There are those who escaped the apocalypse unmarked. Pures. They are tucked safely inside the Dome that protects their healthy, superior bodies. Yet Partridge, whose father is one of the most influential men in the Dome, feels isolated and  lonely. Different. He thinks about loss-maybe just because his family is broken; his father is emotionally distant; his brother killed himself; and his mother never made it inside their shelter. Or maybe it's his claustrophobia: his feeling that this Dome has become a swaddling of intensely rigid order. So when a slipped phrase suggests his mother might still be alive, Partridge risks his life to leave the Dome to find her.

When Pressia meets Partridge, their worlds shatter all over again.
