Solid was a quick read with a interesting plot that i found to love and unique in it's own way. Clio is like any other girl you see around, but the one thing you don't know about her is that her DNA was altered with when she was a baby. That's with so many other kids like her are at a Army camp.  Despite it being called a Army camp its nothing like it sounds. It's like any other normal day. Until, Clio over hears two people quarrel about something strange.

I enjoyed seeing through Clio's mind. I liked her inside witty comments, especially. Her relationship with Jack was cute. I kept on cursing Garret when he kept on interrupting them when they were having a good moment. Besides Garret and Jack there are also other friend of Clio: Bliss and Miranda. They all are all fun people to read about. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the characters.

When i first read about this i thought it would be like any other scientific-DNA-altered story. On the other hand, Shelley Workinger did the exactly opposite. She made the protagonist and the other people agree coming to the Army campus, which i though was a very nice unique touch. Nevertheless of the unique touch there were some things i didn't like. In my opinion, i thought, that the start from the story was dragged on for too long. Further more, i could see where some things were going.

In spite of the fact that, the beginning of the story was dragged on i still loved some of the twist in the plot and the characters were all fun to read about. If you love science fiction then i would definitely recommend this for you.

 You can never settle down with one emotion while you are reading Transcend; it's a roller coaster of emotions. Ien has lost everything in the fire. Now, all he wants is revenge. Anger, hatred and rage is all he thinks about. Everyone has betrayed him. His parents. His best friend. His lover. He can't trust anyone. Not the voice inside his head. Not Sister Anne. He just needs his lover, Kiera, back. Then everything will be alright. But it seems there's more to what Ien knows.

Ien, our main character, is shrouded by memories. Ien, for me, wasn't my favorite character. I couldn't get the hang of his emotions and how his mind worked. My favorite character was Jenna. She was a sweet girl that understood Ien. Jenna and Ien are childhoods friend and knows everything about him.

When i first saw Transcend i was captivated by the cover and let me tell you, the inside doesn't let you down. You just have to be patient. At first, i was confused because one chapter would be firs person narrative and the third person narrative. For a while it bugged but i got used to it. I also had some problems with the pace. The first half of the story didn't really excite me but as i got further in the story the pages were flying by. We uncover his past and answers are give. On the other hand,  Christine's writing is subtle, even though, the emotions the words gives off are strong

I am definitely a fan of Christine Fonseca and i can't wait to read more of her works. Although, the beginning was confusing you will not be disappointed when you finish the book .

What i first loved about this book was the colors on the cover. They are so sharp and real. A gorgeous cover always leads me in.

Frost Arch was an excellent read. It has minor flaws but kept me interested, nonetheless. Avalon Redding  powers are wild and uncontrollable and fears that she will harm her sister, so runs away from home. Avalon has escaped to Frost Arch. At the same time, she finds an unusual creature in a cargo. It's a fox with wings. She can't hide it forever though. It's rapidly growing.

Our protagonist, Avalon Redding, is the one thing i am not sure about. I don't know if i like her or not. Now and then, she is reckless and sometimes she is sensible and mature. On the other hand, i thought Jack was mature and sensible but was humorous when the story needed it. I also liked Raeven and Seth Swaggart. Both of their characters were mysterious and intriguing at the same time. Although, i really liked Seth Swaggart i couldn't really fully appreciate his character, because he wasn't in the book most of the time.

Plot wise i thought that it was interesting and fascinating. What i was really interested about when i first read about it was how humans were slaves to the mages and how this was set in the far future. Contrarily, there was nothing about where the story was set. The pace of the story was great, regardless the rushed start. But it soon became steady and flowed nicely through out the story, so i didn't mind it much.

Despite, the minor flaws in all of the topics, Frost Arch, overall, was a enjoyable read with a engaging story line with a great, steady pace. The characters were all fun to know about. I would recommend to read it if you ever get a chance, or get your own copy and read it now.

Return to Arèthane was a refreshing read. It's full of adventure, action, fantasy and romance. Emily has been friends with the beautiful Dafne ever since they've met. When Emily is saved by a hot guy in a embarrassing situation she doesn't think anything of it. But that all changes, when Dafne's siblings come home. Both of her siblings are gorgeous, like Dafne, but she's met one of them before. Jarrad, he's the one who helped her at the restaurant. Emily knows Dafne and her siblings are hiding something from her. The flowers bloom when Dafne passes them and Kara was glowing!

The story was in third person perspective but the characters were still enjoyable to read. Emily was strong even though she has a heart problem and that she always has to act like a adult in her family. Especially, with her mum who is always drunk or spotted with alcohol. Seeing through Kara's perspective was a fun experience. You get to know the story even deeper and understand it even more.

Now, the plot and Kelly's writing was superb! I breezed through the book easily and didn't want to put it down. It was all merged together with everything i liked; action, adventure, romance, heart throb moments and fantasy. And it wasn't all muddled up it blended in together exquisitely. Furthermore, the writing style of Kelly Raid was perfect for me. Even with all of these positive points, i had a problem with the ending. It was just there. It was left hanging and no i don't mean a cliffhanger. It was just left there hanging. So, that really let me down.

To end this review, i would say to everyone that they should definitely check it out soon. It kept me buried in its pages and i'm sure you'll be the same as well. Without a doubt, i am looking forward to read the next installment in this series.

A larger plot involving, a vampire, a rogue wizard and an army of soul-less zombies is revealed, but can Annie and Cham discover who is responsible before The Day of First Sun?

The Day of First Sun was a quick and easy read. When Princess Amelie and Jordan (her boyfriend) steal an orb they don't know that it could turn theirs and everyone else's world upside down. But, it's too late. When the FBI find Princess Amelie's lifeless body Annie Pierce and her partner, Bobby “Cham” Chamsky, are called in. Annie and Cham are Wizard's Guard. Princess Amelie of Amborix is murdered but with magic. When the murder rests on Jordan's shoulders it turns out this is part of a even bigger problem.

Annie as the main character i didn't really connect with. Actually, i didn't really connect with any of the character. However, I thought that Annie was a perfect heroine. She wasn't perfect in every way. She had flaws like us. Cham and Annie have been together as friends for their whole life. They've been in love with each other for so long. When Annie finally confesses and they were together i thought that there could have been more of them together, for longer.

Sheryl's writing is really easy to get and it flows really well together. I could see how this was all linked together, for example. Despite the fact that i could understand the plot easily there were two things that made my opinion for The Day of first Sun go down. One, i was expecting more action. From the synopsis it sounded to me as if it was more of a action and thrill. Secondly, the past. We knew most of the past but the things that i really wanted to know more about was Annie's past and how the non-magical (i.e FBI) and the magical (i.e Wizard's Guard) got together.

In conclusion, The Day of First Sun was an interesting read but there were some things that made me hesitant into loving it. Although i didn't connect with the characters i really liked Annie. I also liked how everything flowed together easily. I would recommend this to people who love mystery more than action.

Excerpt:

Someone screamed; a terrified, naked shrill cry in the distance. There were sounds of hollering, screeching, grunting, stomping. The ground rumbled under Annie as she threw several layers of animal skins to the ground.

Spencer jumped up; the coven roused themselves.

“The mead hall,” he said as they threw open the door and ran to the village center.

Chaos turned to determination as the coven traveled through the forest toward the mead hall. Annie knew the Vikings were running, screaming, panicked— but all she could hear were footsteps, and her heart pounding in her chest. Spencer had come with her; she didn’t know where he was now. She only knew the steady rhythm surrounding her as the coven followed the trail. Instinctively she went into battle mode. This was what had brought here. Her adrenaline pumped through her, her heart beat quicker, her blood boiled with rage, and she ran faster.

They were through the forest and into the clearing that surrounded the mead hall. Annie’s senses changed, grew clearer and louder. She heard terrified voices; smelled fear hanging in the air. Swords swished in the air; metal sliced through flesh. Anxious, chaotic screams greeted them as they entered the massacre.

Blood covered the earth and stuck to their shoes and clothes. Large dark patches already drenched the ground around the hall and rolled off the dead bodies that littered the ground. Annie was sick. Women and children ran from the mead hall in the direction of the coven village, away from the demons that had overtaken them.

She reached down and pulled a small boy out of the way as a demon lunged for him. She threw her first jinx at the demon, surprised by the strength of her magic. The creature flew through the air and landed on another demon. The demon on top grunted, punched the beast below it and stood up. The one on the ground rose and looked around, confused at first until it focused on a Viking running past. It reached its large hands over and plucked the Viking from mid-run and held him in the air.

Terror filled the night; panic surrounded her as she conjured a small fireball. It hovered above her palm; it grew in size and strength, and she released it toward the demon. Its lightweight clothing caught fire easily. The demon hopped around in one spot, patting down the fire, but the flames grew and inched their way upwards before consuming the demon’s skin. It screamed; pain mixed with terror. The battle stopped around them and the warriors watched, entranced by the only known means to kill the demons.

“Fire!” Annie yelled to them. “Kill them with fire!”

As if the coven awoke from a trance, fireballs lit up the night, flying through the air and consuming the demons. Fire ate away at Annie’s demon’s flesh and crackled its bones. They popped until there was nothing left but ash. The last of the monster’s scream reverberated in Annie’s ear as the wind picked up and scattered its smoking remains in the air. She lit another ball of fire above her palm and threw it in the pile of ash, burning any possible traces of the demon. The blaze flashed and died down to nothing. She ran toward another creature.

These are all the lovelies i got this week and the last! And i have to say they all have beautiful covers!

I am very lucky that i got After Dark because it's an eARC! I love the cover of Transcend! Especially the mask. Transcend's blog tour is coming up so keep an eye out. Next, Solid. I'm looking forward to read it as i've heard it's a good read. And I just noticed that the cover has silhouettes of two people at the edge. Can you see it or is it just me?

Anyway. Moving on, Debutantes's cover is gorgeous! Finally, I won another book this week: Xor: The Shape of Darkness! It sounds awesome because it includes "Realm Pirates"! Oh, and if you want a chance to win it head towards its Goodreads page!

Why I'm waiting:

First, the cover! If i could stare at the cover all day i would! Second, dragons? Hell yeah! They are like my favorite creature in the fantasy world. And lastly, a princess that isn't a damsel in distress with a "forbidden book"? All of these combined sounds like an awesome book!

New blog name, design and address!!!

As you can already guess i have a new blog name, design and address!

You might be wondering why i changed it. And i've got the answer right here:

This book blog has never settled with a blog name. It actually had another name before Wishing On a Shooting Star Reviews. It used to be called Entwined Tales. Originally i wanted the blog to be named Tales Entwined, but it seems it was already taken. I never liked it. Then i changed it to Wishing On a Shooting Star Reviews. I actually liked it like that... for awhile. Then, for some reason i became really picky again. At the same time, i was making an Twitter account for the blog. I then made my Twitter account which is... dun dun duuun... whisper of reads. (See where i'm going?) Then it came to me! (Eureka!) I got the idea to change my blog name! It was perfect! And i loved it!

So, now we are here in the present. I would love to hear what you think of it! Do you love it? Is there something wrong with it? Is it not loading properly? If you have anythings to say then spill it away in the comments below!

I really forgot to do this yesterday. I got sidetracked by the time. All of these pictures are not made by me. I got them from other websites. And they are:
