Summary:

Their love was meant to be.

When Megan Rosenberg moves to Ireland, everything in her life seems to fall into place. After growing up in America, she's surprised to find herself feeling at home in her new school. She connects with a group of friends, and she is instantly drawn to darkly handsome Adam DeRÍs.
But Megan is about to discover that her feelings for Adam are tied to a fate that was sealed long ago—and that the passion and power that brought them together could be their ultimate destruction

Thoughts before the read:
God i love the cover! Adam sound so mysterious and handsome!

Thoughts after the read:
Well...ummm..speechless-in a good and bad way.

Review:
Megan has just from the Us to Ireland, Uk. Enrolling into a school (with uniform) she settles her eyes on Adam DeRis, every time she sees him her mark on her neck keeps on stinging. Somehow, Megan feels like he's the one for her. The Deriss are odd and different from everyone. But when Megan notices the "odd" about them she can't still help herself but fall for Adam. When an event goes wrong Megan discovers who and what the DeRiss are. She also discovers why her mark from an old accident keeps on stinging her whenever she's close to Adam or one of the DeRiss.

*This review has lot of spoilers, but i'm sure all of you would have already read it because i am so late!

I feel so stupid for not reading this when it came out. Carrier Of The Mark is a fast pace and a fascinating story. I'm sure i am one of the last people to read this book.

From the start of this book i couldn't help but be intrigued by it. I kept on guessing what the DeRiss and Megan were; They're descendants of a Celtic goddess called Danu.

The story goes like this: Danu used to control the four elements: earth, fire, air and water balancing the world. Danu loved of all things loved humans the most. So, she created Tautha de Dannan, her children of human form and gave them each of them one of her powers-earth, fire, air and water. But Danu had not seen the weakness of human mind- corruption, greed jealousy the Tutha de Duna misused their powers. Danu got angry so she left Earth and returned to the reams of God (that's awesome-the reams of God!) vowing not to return until the children used their powers for good sake and live in harmony. Until they did this the the four elements would not be united Earth would remain imbalanced. However, she didn't abandon her children entirely. Present day, the four elements still haven't come together harmony and now the four elements are in Adam-water, Aine (Adams sister)-Earth, Rian (Adams brother) and Megan-air.

With that i got hooked on even more! However, Carrier Of The Mark has also got a negative point, in my view. I thought that the Carrier of The Mark had some originality, but i also thought it had some elements from other book like Twilight saga and Cassandra Clare works. Any more bad points? Nope! I enjoyed reading Carrier Of The Mark i can't wait to read the next book!

I'm sure you guys have read this book. So, what did you think about it? Do you agree or disagree with me? Comment below! :)

My rating:

Pleas, sir, can i have some more?

About the author:

I was born in South Africa, raised in Dublin, Ireland and moved to Cork in my 20’s. While living in beautiful Kinsale, Co Cork I discovered a love of writing. I write mainly for the young adult market. My current book, The Carrier of the Mark, prompted me to abandon my ‘riveting’ career in corporate treasury and have been writing ever since. I have another three books in the Carrier series and a few other projects I'm working on. My family and I now share our time between Ireland and the US.

  1. Hi, liked your review. I read Carrier of the mark and really disliked it but I like that people have different opinions! :) There is just one thing, Ireland is not part of the UK. Northern Ireland is but not the Republic Of Ireland (where the book is set) looking forward to reading more of your reviews! :)

  2. What a great review! I'm glad you liked this one. I just couldn't get past ALL of the Twilight similarities so this read ultimately wasn't for me. Wonderful review though!

  3. Haha, well I haven't read it yet but have no plans to either. I heard from the reviews that it was very Twilight-ish and Clare-ish and decided not to bother. :)

Terrific review, now I'm wondering if maybe I should give it a try after all. I'm on a streak where I hate books everyone else loves so maybe this will continue it in reverse!

  4. People either love or hate Carrier of the Mark. I quite enjoyed it. I was annoyed with all the Twilight similarities, but the paranormal twist was unique and I liked that the girl was stronger than the guy.
