Thoughts before the read:
oh my god! This is going to be amazing! Just read the blurb!

Thoughts after the read:
Mmmmm, OK. Not a great fan, but i would like to read the next book in the series.

Review:

To start off i have never, ever, read Meg Cabot works in my whole life. Yep, i know what you are thinking. "where have you been, girl?!" However, i have tried to read her works, but they just don't peak my interest. On the other hand, Abandon is different. Abandon, is about a girl who has been dead and seen a mysterious (and yummy, in my thought) boy when she was on a "flatline". Well, that peaks my interest. Next, the boy, John Hayden, wants her back and keep her in the Underworld. That's right THE Underworld. Not a tour around the Underworld like: "oh, and that's Satan's bedroom. Uh i know right, he has no taste what so ever!" Nope not like that! So, then, i was like: "i am getting this no matter what!"

*Spoiler alert! Spoiler alert! Spoiler alert!
Abandon, is about a girl-Peirce-who has died before and when she dies she meets a "mysterious" and "irresistible" boy. Which you later find out that his name is John Hayden and he rules the Underworld. At that time, Pierce is accompanying John he gives Peirce a necklace to protect herself because she is always in danger and then Peirce chucks tea at him to get away. (Tea! Tea! It only takes tea to get away from the ruler of the Underworld. God sake they need to do a check up on this guy. I mean he's the ruler of the Under world! Can't he magically make armies of bones and magically make fire appear out of thin air?) Then, when Peirce gets back she gets in a lot of trouble and then John is her savour like 2 times. Now, in present, she lives with her mum on a island. Oh, and then she figures out that the Furies are after her. (wow, babes, run for it!)
*spoiler end.

As good as it sounds Abandon has good points as well as bad points.

This book is based on Peirce's life and with that the story goes back and forth, from the past to the present. This confuses me because you don't if she's talking about know or the last time something bad happened. Another thing that annoys me is that Peirce talks about "him" and you don't know who "he" is and that ticked me off. Lastly, Peirce is too kind for her own good. She helps everything except for herself. She only worries about other living things than herself, even when she died. This book was too slow and too calm. The plot of this book was like watching a snail walk-or rather drag itself. Plus, there was nothing exciting happening in this book! The only exciting thing in this book was at the ending.

Things that i liked about the book was the Greek mythology it was based on. This is because i love, l-o-v-e, Greek mythology! The Greek mythology that was based in Abandon was the  story of how the god of the dead, Hades, stealing a girl and her name is Persephone. In my point of view i think John is Hades and Peirce is Persephone. John is a good character and even though we did not see him much in this book i still like him. For once, i think i would actually love it if Meg Cabot had done a chapter from John's perspective. Last not but least, my only good point in the plot was the ending; you find out a great deal of thing in the last two or three chapters. Like who the furies are and how John actually feels about Peirce and i thought it was so sweet.

Overall, i think that Abandon is a good read, but some people might not think so. However, i still encourage people to read to find out on their own if they like it or not.

My rating:

Pleas, sir, can i have some more?
