Summary:

Before. Everything was so much better Before. I wasn’t haunted by nightmares, my place at school was secure and my face was flawless. Now, I’m a freak and everything has changed. The worst part is that I can’t remember the night I was sentenced to the shadows. The memory has been stolen from me and I just can’t shake the feeling that someone, something is out there -watching.
Just when I think I have my life handled, Sam, with his intimidating golden stare and shiver inducing voice, makes me realise that I don’t know anything. He makes me see that my scars don’t matter. That they never mattered. I can’t help but fall for him, completely unknowing that he knows exactly how I got this way. Not knowing he was involved.
***
Heven has no idea how closely death stalks her. She has no idea what I have done to keep her alive. I fear the day she learns my secrets, finds out what I really am. But even then I cannot stop, I vow to make things right. Finally her hunter will be hunted, Heaven and Hell, faith and sin will battle, and we will be victorious. But first, Heven must learn to be what she never imagined. I know her strength is there – I feel it. If we are to overcome all odds, she must push past her flaws - her frailties - to become much more.

Thoughts before read:
The synopsis sounds good and i love the cover! The big mystery is how did Heven get those scars?

Thoughts after read:
Mother of god! Did i just read that?

Review:

Are you joking with me. This is me:

Heven might sound like a normal girl but she isn't. She has scars on her face that nobody, not even her, knows how it got there. But when Sam turns up everything takes a different turn. Heven feels safe and secure around Sam. However, when events of surprises takes place nothing is normal about Heven's life anymore. Sam has secrets and so does the world about Heven.

Cambria takes a big plunge into the world of paranormal in this book. You can't stop reminiscing about it.

Masquerade has a lot of "Oh my GOD!" scenes and let me tell you you'll be doing it throughout of the book. You won't stop getting enough surprises even after you think you know everything. First, you get to know what Sam is and then you get to know why Heven is also important to the whole world and you're like: "whoa, we should take step back". Masquerade has a lot of twists and turns and you will love it!

The mystery in this book is too much to take. If Sam isn't a vampire, werewolf, ghost, fae, alien or any of them then what is he? God, that was what i asked every minute. The curiosity kills you. Until, i knew what Sam was it took me by surprise because no author has actually used that animal.

Heven as a character was good. She has a typical life, well, not the scars but yeah. She has normal friends and family. Even though, she has scars she went on with her life as it was and i think that was really brave, because i would have never done that. Sam, Sam, Sam. Sam is a kind of guy that you wouldn't fall for heels over head, but he isn't the type ignore, either. The character that most stood up to me was Heven's friend, Kimber. Kimber is Heven's best friend and she still hangs out with Heven. However, Kimber also has hatred for Heven and i liked that, because it is realistic in a sense.

In conclusion, people, if you haven't read Masquerade then you're missing on something really, really great! I advise that everyone should read it!

I can't wait for the next book.
