Cover talk (3): New Girl

Hey there! So i haven't done this in like a looooong time. Believe me it has been a long time. Then, finally i got an opportunity with a book that i recently read and reviewed. So enjoy!

Left cover: UK, Right cover: US

New Girl by Paige Harbison
Pages: 320
Published: Halequin Teen
Pub date: January 31st 2012

Synopsis:

Are you walking in a dead girl's shoes?

The Queen Bee's missing. Will you be next?
It's hard fitting in as the new girl among the rich elite at Manderley Academy, especially when you're assigned to the old room of the perfect, popular Becca - who's disappeared. What really happened to Becca? And what sinister secrets lurks in the school's dark hallways?

Learning to survive Manderley's coat-throat social scene, you can't help but follow in Becca's footsteps, even falling for Max, the boy she left behind. Although sometimes it seems that Becca's still out there, watching you take her place.
Waiting to take it back . . .

{Check out my review HERE.}

So, the first time i saw the US cover i that it was something about the new girl drowning but then when you see the UK version you see that it completely differs. The US cover tells you Becca's side of the story and the UK cover of the story. I prefer the UK version than the US cover. This is because:

  • It tells you Callie's side of the story.
  • It makes more sense with the title.
  • The cover is very eye-catching.
  • The US cover just confused me when i first saw it.

I'm guessing you already know that i prefer the UK cover than the US cover. That's what i think, but what do you think?

*If my facts are wrong about the covers do tell me. Thanks!

  1. I haven't read this book, but I agree your points on UK cover! I personally prefer the US cover since I love underwater cover, but I agree, the UK cover is very eye-catching! The UK cover makes the story seems lighter and I can see myself picking the book simply because of the cover! :)

  2. I like both for different reasons. I haven't read the story yet but from what I've heard so far, the UK cover reflects the story a little bit more. (On the other hand, the US cover is just stunning) :)

  3. No wonder i isn't recognize the cover. I remember i read the synopsis on goodreads and no wonder because your review was on the UK cover! Both looks very wonderful but I like the UK cover more, for some reason. :/
